Encaustics

Encaustics is an umbrella term for art that uses wax. In my encaustic photography I print my photographs, adhere them too wood and paint or pour wax onto them. Adding finishing touches with paint. ​

The wax gives a dimensionality to the photos giving them a sculptural quality. It also creates a veil between the viewer and the image. When the veil is lifted what is revealed? Hazy like memories, the most important parts are always clear.
